The thirteenth of January, 1841. it is sometime since we left The Persepolis. Early in the morning, Samad khan saddled the horses. We took our equipment and traveled the plains of "Marv-Dasht" where there is a group of historic monuments, to set off for the thousand-year-old stone spirits who are imprisoned on the bosom of the "Naghshe-Rostam"mountains and gaze upon the world and its revolutions.
